What happens during a session?
Each session may be different depending on the goals and needs of the person. Typically, an ACT Coach will discuss the things that are currently happening in your life, things that happened in the past that are relevant to your current experiences, explore a variety of individualized therapeutic modalities, and review the gains you have had from the previous sessions together.
Medication vs. Therapy
Medication cannot solve your mind/body/behavioral challenges alone. Healthy coaching is needed in order to address the source of your distress and behavior patterns. Check with your medical doctor and see what is the best treatment for you.
Will our conversations remain confidential?
Confidentiality is a key component of health and wellness coaching. What you discuss in a session will not be shared with anyone else. Your ACT Coach will not release this information without your written consent, except in the following situations:
- The ACT Coach suspects there is past or present abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults or elders.
- The ACT Coach suspects clients are in danger of harming themselves or clients have threatened to harm another person.
